Womens Rugby Rankings Olympics 2024: Your Guide to the Teams Competing in Paris

So, I got this thing I wanted to look into, which was the women’s rugby rankings for the 2024 Olympics. I kinda got lost in all the info out there, but I figured I’d write down what I did and what I found.

First off, I started with a simple search. I just typed in “women’s rugby rankings Olympics 2024” into my search bar. I figured that would give me a good starting point. I saw a bunch of results pop up, some about the Olympics in general, some about rugby sevens, and some about the teams.

I started clicking around, and I found out that the 2024 Olympics are gonna be in Paris. Cool, right? They’re gonna have like 10,500 athletes competing in 32 different sports. And for the Paralympics, there are over 4,000 athletes in 22 sports. That’s a lot of people!

Then I got into the rugby stuff. It looks like New Zealand is pretty good at women’s rugby sevens—they’ve won two gold medals already! Canada got silver, which is their best yet. And the U.S. women got bronze, beating Australia, which was a bit of a surprise.

I also dug up the schedule for the rugby sevens. It’s happening from July 24th to July 30th at the Stade de France. I found out you can watch it on a few different channels like NBC, CNBC, and E!.

Here’s what I put together about the teams:

  • New Zealand: They’re the top dogs, winning two golds already.
  • Canada: Stepped up their game and got silver.
  • USA: They snagged the bronze, which was a bit unexpected.
  • Brazil and Uruguay: These teams were the first to get their spots through some regional qualifiers.

I kept digging and found some official stuff from World Rugby, too. They had info about all the teams playing, both men’s and women’s. It was cool to see it all laid out like that.

So that’s pretty much what I did. I started with a simple search, followed a bunch of links, and put together some notes on what I found. It wasn’t super organized, but I got a decent idea of what’s going on with women’s rugby at the 2024 Olympics.

It was a bit of a rabbit hole, but hey, that’s how these things go sometimes. I ended up learning a bit more than I expected, and that’s always a good thing.
