Oh, I tell ya, October 19th, 2023, was somethin’ else, you know? The weather was all sorts of ways, not too cold, not too hot, just a nice in-between kind of day. You wake up and the sun’s already up there in the sky, all bright and clear like it’s smiling down on ya. I had to open the windows wide, let the fresh air come in, ’cause it wasn’t stuffy like in the summer. A real good day for sittin’ outside, maybe drinkin’ a little tea, and just watchin’ the world go by.
Now, if you were in the north parts like Tulsa or some places around there, I hear tell it wasn’t so bad. Temperature stayed around 15°C early in the mornin’, but by the middle of the day, it warmed up to about 26°C or so, just about perfect, if you ask me. Not too chilly, not too hot, just enough to wear a light jacket or even a sweater if you’re like me and get a little cold easily. Folks said it was sunny all day, not a cloud in sight, and that sure does lift the spirits, don’t it?
But you know, the weather changes mighty quick, especially this time of year. October, it’s in-between, not fall yet really, but not summer either. Days like October 19th, they remind you that summer’s gone and the chill of winter’s comin’, but it’s still got some warmth left to it. I remember when I was younger, we used to say that October’s weather was like a friend who don’t quite know whether to stay or leave. One minute it’s warm, the next it’s cold. But it’s nice like that. Keeps you on your toes, I guess.
Now, down south, they mighta been gettin’ a bit warmer, around 26°C too, maybe a touch hotter than up north. I heard Tulsa was real nice, though, with temperatures hangin’ in that 20-25°C range. Ain’t nobody complainin’, ’cause this time of year, it’s just right. You get the warm sun during the day, but at night, it cools off enough to need a blanket on the bed. Those cold nights, they got that crisp feelin’ to ’em that makes you wanna snuggle up.
October’s a funny month like that. It’s like the whole world’s takin’ a deep breath, gettin’ ready for what’s comin’. We all know November’s not far behind, and that’s when the cold really sets in, but right now, on October 19th, it was like the last hoorah of the warm weather. You could still go out without bundlin’ up too much, and not yet have to worry about snow or anything. It’s a nice little in-between time.
When you look up at the sky, you notice how clear it is, don’t you? Hardly any clouds, just that big, blue dome up there. Kinda makes you think about all those days in summer when it was too hot to even step outside, and now here we are, October 19th, and the weather’s just perfect for bein’ outside. I reckon the weather people probably said the same thing, too—temps just right, clear skies, a little breeze, nothin’ too wild, just how you like it.
And that air, it’s so fresh! I always say, October’s the best time to get out and work in the garden, or take a nice walk down the road. You won’t be sweatin’ like in summer, but you’re not freezin’ your toes off either. You could just about spend all day outside if you wanted to, and you wouldn’t even break a sweat. If I were you, I’d get out there, enjoy it while it lasts, ’cause we know the cold’s comin’ soon enough.
That said, it’s been a bit dry around here, hasn’t it? I don’t know about everywhere else, but in some parts, it don’t rain as much in October, and you might see that, too. Things get a little dusty, but it’s just part of this time of year. The trees are still green for the most part, but you know soon enough they’ll start changin’ their colors, turnin’ all those pretty reds, yellows, and oranges. It’s a beautiful time, no doubt about it. You might even see some leaves blowin’ around, with that nice little autumn wind stirrin’ ’em up.
Well, that’s the weather talk for October 19th, 2023. Not much to complain about, really. The air’s fresh, the sun’s out, and the temperatures are nice and comfy. I reckon it’s just the right kind of day to be outside, or maybe sittin’ in the yard, enjoyin’ the day. You don’t get too many of these days, so it’s best to take ’em when you can.
