Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this Walmart Black Friday thingy from back in 2014. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I remember it clear as day.
The Big Day, Thanksgiving Day?
Yeah, you heard that right. Walmart, they started their sale on Thanksgiving Day, 6 pm sharp. Can you believe it? Folks was supposed to be eatin’ turkey and whatnot, but nope, they was linin’ up at Walmart. It was a whole big to-do, I tell ya.
Three Times the Fun, or Three Times the Crazy?
Now, Walmart, they did things a bit different that year. They had these “three events,” they called ’em. Sounded fancy, but it just meant they had different stuff on sale at different times. Like, first batch of goodies at 6 pm on Thanksgiving, then another bunch later that night, and then the last bit on Friday mornin’. Kept folks runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off, if you ask me.
- Event 1: 6 PM on Thanksgiving – the early birds got the… well, you know. TVs and such.
- Event 2: Later Thanksgiving night – more stuff, probably toys and clothes and whatnot.
- Event 3: Friday morning – whatever was left, I guess. And maybe some more goodies they was hidin’.
Them Ads, They Was Everywhere!
Walmart, they sure did make a fuss about their sales. Them ads was all over the place – newspapers, TVs, the internet thingy. They showed you all the stuff they was gonna sell, all them TVs and game machines and such. Made folks want to buy everything, even if they didn’t need it. You know how it is.
Early Bird Gets the Worm, But…
Lots of stores, they started their Black Friday sales early, or kept ’em goin’ longer. But Walmart, they stuck to their guns. Thanksgiving night, 6 pm, that was the time. If you wanted the good stuff, you had to be there, no two ways about it.
What Folks Was Buyin’, Anyway?
Oh, all sorts of things. Them big TVs, that was the big thing. Folks was fightin’ over them, I heard. And them game machines, for the kids, you know. And clothes and toys and kitchen stuff. Anything you could think of, Walmart probably had it on sale.
Was It Worth It?
Well, that depends on who you ask. Some folks got some good deals, I reckon. They got them TVs and game machines they always wanted. But some folks, they just got tired and frustrated. Standin’ in line all night, fightin’ the crowds… it ain’t for everyone, that’s for sure.
Things Ain’t the Same No More, Though
Back in 2014, Black Friday was a real event. Folks went crazy for it. Now, it seems like the sales start earlier and earlier every year. And you can buy stuff online, without even leavin’ your house. It’s just not the same, you know? But that Walmart Black Friday in 2014, that was somethin’ else. I tell ya, it was a wild ride.
So, that’s the gist of it. Walmart, Thanksgiving, three events, lots of ads, lots of people, and lots of stuff on sale. It was a crazy time, but hey, that’s Black Friday for ya. Whether it was worth it or not, well, that’s up to each person to decide. Me? I just stayed home and ate my pumpkin pie. Less hassle that way.
