Hey there, y’all! Let’s yak about them Black Friday deals at Walmart back in 2014. Yeah, that was a spell ago, but some things you just don’t forget, like a good bargain!
Now, I ain’t no fancy shopper, but I do like to save a dollar or two. Back then, everyone was hollerin’ about Black Friday, this big sale day after Thanksgiving. Walmart, that big store, they had all sorts of stuff on sale. Folks were sayin’ they had ads leakin’ out early, showin’ all the goodies you could get.
I remember hearin’ about them Xbox Ones. My grandson, he was all about them video games. Walmart was sellin’ ’em with some kinda games, “Assassin’s Creed” I think they called it. Probably a bunch of shootin’ and runnin’ around, but the boys, they loved that stuff. And the price? Well, it was lower than usual, that’s for sure. That’s what Black Friday is all about, ain’t it? Gettin’ things cheaper.
- Xbox One Bundles: Like I said, these were a big deal. Kids went crazy for ’em.
- Televisions: Big ol’ TVs were on sale too. My neighbor, she got herself a new one. Said it was bigger than her whole wall! Don’t know what she needed such a big thing for, but she was happy as a clam.
- Toys: Christmas was comin’, ya know. So, all them toys were gettin’ marked down. Little dolls, trucks, all that kinda stuff. Had to stock up for the grandkids.
They was callin’ it “doorbusters” and “super sales.” Sounded like a ruckus to me, but folks were linin’ up outside the stores before the sun even came up. I ain’t that brave, or crazy, depends on how you look at it. I waited ’til later in the day, figured the crowds would die down some.
And them online deals, they were somethin’ else too. You could sit in your own house, in your pajamas, and shop ’til you dropped. Didn’t have to fight nobody for a parking spot or wrestle a toy outta some other lady’s hands. That’s my kinda shoppin’, I tell ya. Just click, click, click, and it shows up at your door a few days later.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ I got everything on my list that year. Some things were sold out, and some things were just too darn expensive, even on sale. But I did snag a few good deals. Got that little doll for my granddaughter, and a new toaster oven for myself. Mine was gettin’ old and rusty, and burnt everything I put in it.
It was a wild time, that Black Friday 2014. People gettin’ all worked up over sales, but hey, who doesn’t like to save some money? Walmart, they sure knew how to get folks in the door. With them ads and them deals, it was hard to resist. Even for an old gal like me.
Looking back, it’s funny how much fuss we made over it. But I reckon that’s just how it is with these big sales. They come and go, and we get a little somethin’ cheaper, and then we wait for the next one. And Walmart, they’re always there, ready to sell us somethin’.
So yeah, that was my Black Friday experience back in 2014 at Walmart. Nothin’ too fancy, just a bunch of folks lookin’ for a bargain. And you know what? I bet it ain’t much different now.
Just remember, don’t go spendin’ all your money in one place, ya hear? Even if them deals are shoutin’ your name. Gotta be smart about it, gotta make that money stretch. That’s what my mama always told me, and I ain’t forgettin’ it.
