Toxic Winter Austin: The Truth Behind the Rumors and What to Actually Expect

That Toxic Winter, oh boy, that was somethin’ else in Austin. I tell ya, it was colder than a well digger’s backside. We ain’t used to that kinda cold down here. That January, the 26th I think it was, in 2024, it hit us like a ton of bricks.

They called it Toxic Winter Austin. Sounded fancy, but it weren’t nothin’ but trouble. Folks was sayin’ it was at some place called The Concourse Project. I don’t know nothin’ about that, I just know it was cold. And they said it was for folks 18 and up. Good thing, too, little ones don’t need to be out in that mess.

Toxic Winter Austin: The Truth Behind the Rumors and What to Actually Expect

My neighbor, she heard it was somethin’ called a “hosted by prime.” I asked her, prime what? She says she don’t know, just prime. It happened on that Burleson Road, I reckon. I ain’t never been out that way, too far for my old bones.

Some folks, they said it was “insane”. I guess that means it was wild. They said shoutout to people that came. I stayed inside, I did. I ain’t goin’ nowhere in that cold. They said no refunds. Well, good, I say. If I’m gonna be cold, I’m gonna be cold at home, not payin’ for it!

  • That Toxic Winter, it was somethin’.
  • It was in Austin, that’s for sure.
  • Happened in January, the 26th I believe.
  • Folks said it was at The Concourse Project.
  • Some even said it was “insane”.

They was talkin’ about some people, Crankdat, Jessica somethin’, Infekt, ALLEYCVT, Cromatik, Aalioura. I don’t know none of them folks. Probably some youngins makin’ a ruckus. I seen it on the computer, some numbers, 324 likes and 12 comments. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds like a lot of chatter.

Then there’s this talk about poinsettias. You know, those red Christmas flowers. Some folks were sayin’ they’re poison for dogs and cats. I don’t know if that’s true, but I kept mine away from my old dog, just in case. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

And then, Lord have mercy, there was talk about the snow. They said it weren’t real snow. Said the government made it. Now, I don’t know about all that. I just know it was cold. Cold and white and made my old bones ache. They said some website called “snopes” checked it and said it was false. Whatever that means.

That Toxic Winter in Austin, it was a time, I tell ya. Lots of talk, lots of fuss. Me, I just stayed inside, wrapped up in my quilt, sippin’ on hot tea. That’s the best way to deal with that kinda cold, if you ask me. Just stay put, stay warm, and wait for it to pass.

They say that winter was somethin’ special. Toxic Winter Austin they called it. I just call it a pain in my backside. Too cold, too much goin’ on. I’m just glad it’s over. Give me a good ol’ Texas summer any day. At least you can sit on the porch and enjoy the heat. Can’t do that when it’s freezin’ your tail off.

I heard some folks talkin’ about table reservations and packages for that Toxic Winter thing. I don’t know what that’s all about. Sounds like a lot of money for somethin’ that ain’t nothin’ but cold and loud. I’d rather save my money for somethin’ useful, like a new pair of warm socks.

Toxic Winter Austin: The Truth Behind the Rumors and What to Actually Expect

It was from 8 at night to 2 in the mornin’, they said. Indoors, at least. I wouldn’t want to be outside in that weather. They said it was the main room. I reckon that means it was a big place. I imagine it was full of folks, shiverin’ and tryin’ to have a good time. I hope they had a good time, anyway. It’s good to get together, even if it is cold.

It was the talk of the town, that Toxic Winter. All over the place people talking about that cold, that event. Some folks excited, some folks scared. Me, I just wanted it over and done with. I hope we don’t have another one like it any time soon. I’m getting too old for that kind of cold.

Anyway, that’s all I know about that Toxic Winter in Austin. A lot of fuss about nothin’, if you ask me. But that’s what folks do, I guess. They make a big deal out of things. Me, I’m just gonna sit here and enjoy the quiet. And pray for some warm weather. That’s all an old lady like me can do.
