Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout this here weather, just like them folks at the Post Star do, but in a way that makes sense to us regular folk.
First off, them weather folks, they sayin’ there’s gonna be wind. Not just any wind, mind you, but wind that’ll blow your hat clean off your head and into the next county! They talkin’ ’bout 20 to 30 miles per hour, and sometimes, it’ll gust up to 55! That’s mighty strong wind, ya hear? Gonna make them trees sway like they dancin’ and maybe even knock down a few branches. Better tie down anything that ain’t nailed down, that’s what I say.
And then there’s the snow. Them city slickers in their fancy weather offices, they sayin’ snow’s comin’. Not just a little dusting, neither. They talkin’ about heavy snow, the kind that piles up high and makes it hard to get around. And on top of that, they mentionin’ somethin’ called “freezing rain.” Now, I ain’t sure what that is exactly, but it sounds mighty unpleasant. Sounds like the kind of stuff that makes everything slick and icy, so you gotta be careful walkin’ or drivin’.
- Wind’s gonna blow hard, real hard.
- Snow’s comin’, and lots of it.
- Might get some of that freezin’ rain stuff too.
They sayin’ this weather’s gonna be all over the place, not just here. Apparently, it’s gonna snow in places that don’t usually get much snow. Heard tell it’s gonna be messin’ things up all over the country. Two big storms comin’, they say. Well, I reckon we just gotta hunker down and wait it out. That’s what we always do.
Now, some folks like to get alerts about the weather on their phones or whatnots. Me, I just look out the window. But if you’re one of them fancy folks, you can get alerts for news, sports, and weather too. They got all sorts of ways to keep you informed these days.
Talkin’ ’bout other places, I heard somethin’ ’bout the weather down in Los Angeles. They had a storm, a big one, with lots of rain. Even had somethin’ called an “atmospheric river.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it just means a whole lot of rain comin’ down at once. They say the worst of it’s over now, but they still gotta clean up the mess. And that storm, Hilary, it ain’t even a tropical storm no more. They callin’ it a “post-tropical cyclone.” Sounds like they just makin’ up words to scare us.
Up here, though, they keepin’ an eye on things. Got them weather warnings out, yellow ones they call ’em. Says the wind’s gonna be bad all over England and Wales till Sunday evenin’. Almost 300 somethin’, but I didn’t catch what. Guess we just gotta be prepared for whatever comes our way. That’s what folks like us always do.
So there ya have it, the weather report, plain and simple. No fancy words, just the facts. Stay safe out there, folks, and keep warm. And don’t go blamin’ me if the weatherman’s wrong, I’m just passin’ on what I heard.
