This here Richland Rebels football, it’s the talk of the town, I tell ya! Everybody’s been buzzing about them boys. They play that football game, you know. They run and they throw that ball, and sometimes they even catch it! Lots of folks go to watch them, cheering and hollering. It’s a big deal, this Richland Rebels football thing.
They got a schedule, they do. You can see when they’re gonna play. They play other teams, from other towns. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s just how it goes, I reckon. But they always try their best, those boys. You can bet your bottom dollar on that.
They got these things called scores. You know, numbers. They show who’s winning and who’s losing. It’s all very exciting, I suppose. Folks get all riled up about it. Sometimes, they even get mad if their team don’t win. Silly, ain’t it? But that’s how it is with this football.

- Each one has a number, I think.
- They wear them uniforms, all the same color.
- They run around and try to get that ball across a line.
I seen them practice, down at the field. Running and sweating. They work hard, those boys. Gotta be strong to play that game. And fast, too. Can’t be slow and play football. Nope, gotta be quick on your feet.
They got a coach, too. He’s the one who tells them what to do. He yells a lot, that coach. But I guess that’s his job. Gotta keep those boys in line. Make sure they’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing.
And then there’s the games. Oh, the games! Folks come from all over to watch them Richland Rebels play. They bring their chairs and their blankets. They eat hot dogs and popcorn. It is a real event, you know?
I don’t understand all the rules of this football. But it seems important to a lot of people. I heard they even have rankings. Who is the best, who is not so good. They keep track of all that. It’s a lot, I tell ya!
They got this thing called a booster club. I think they help the team. They raise money, I reckon. For uniforms and such. It takes a lot to keep a football team going, I suppose. Lots of folks involved.
You can find all sorts of things about these Richland Rebels. News, they call it. And videos. Pictures, too. It’s all over the place. Seems like everyone’s interested in what they’re doing. It’s a big deal, this football thing, especially when you talk about the Richland Rebels football.

- And there’s news. Lots of news.
I heard they even have state championships. I don’t know much about that. But it sounds important. Winning state must be a big honor. It means you are the best of the best, I guess. And someone around here said that those Bearcats, they have won a lot of them state championships. Must be mighty good.
This football, it brings folks together. Gives them something to talk about. Something to cheer for. It’s a good thing, I suppose. Keeps people busy. And those Richland Rebels, they’re a part of it all. They’re the ones out there on the field, playing the game. Giving it their all. So, I guess that’s something to be proud of.
They even got different classifications in sports, I hear. Like, different groups, maybe? Depends on the sport, I guess. Football probably has its own classifications. It’s all very complicated, if you ask me. But folks seem to understand it.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about this Richland Rebels football. It’s a lot of running and shouting and numbers. But it’s important to a lot of folks around here. And that’s all that really matters, I suppose. As long as they are having fun and no one is getting hurt too bad, then it is all good, right?
