Well, let me tell you, that New Orleans weather in October 2023, it was somethin’ else. One day it’s sunny, next day you need a sweater. You just never knew what you were gonna get! October, that’s when things start to cool down a bit, usually. But that year, 2023, it was a mixed bag, I tell ya.
Most days, it was alright. Sun was shinin’, you could walk around in your short sleeves. But then, clouds would roll in, and you’d be reachin’ for a jacket. They say the high temperature was around 81 degrees. Sounds about right, ’cause some days it was real warm. But then, it could drop down to, like, 62. That’s when you wanted somethin’ on your arms, for sure.
- Some days real hot like summer, reachin’ up to 88 degrees even!
- Some days, you needed a sweater, droppin’ down to 64.
- Lots of sun, but plenty of clouds too.
Now, they say there was 16 sunny days. That’s what them weather folks said, anyway. And 13 cloudy days. Sounds about right, ’cause I remember lookin’ up and seein’ both, plenty of times. Just a couple rainy days though, only two I heard. We didn’t get much rain that October, not like some years. Humidity, they said it was 73% on average. I don’t know about all that, but I know some days it felt real sticky, and some days it was just fine. I remember one time it was 100%, you could feel the air was wet.
They say October is one of the best times to visit New Orleans. And you know what? They might be right. It ain’t too hot, ain’t too cold, most of the time, anyway. You can walk around, see the sights, and not be sweatin’ buckets. But like I said, you gotta be ready for anythin’. Bring a jacket, just in case that wind picks up, you will feel cold.
They got that sayin’, “day and night”, and that’s what October in New Orleans is like. Warm in the day, cool at night. You go out for one of them festivals they got, or just walkin’ around lookin’ at things, you better have a jacket with ya. ‘Cause when that sun goes down, it can get chilly, real quick.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout football in the fall. Saints games, they call ’em. I guess that’s a big deal around here. Folks get all dressed up in their black and gold, go to the game, or watch it at the bar. I don’t know much about football, but I know it gets people excited. If that’s your thing, October’s probably a good time to be in New Orleans. Just remember what I said about that weather!
I heard them talkin’ about the weather in February too, sayin’ it starts to warm up then. I guess that’s true. February, you start to feel that sun gettin’ a little stronger. But October, that’s when you really start to feel the change. Summer’s over, fall’s movin’ in. And in New Orleans, that means anythin’ can happen with that weather. They also talkin about November, sayin the weather is good.
They say the chance of rain in October is around 30% to 35%. That don’t sound like much, but when it rains, it pours, let me tell ya. Could be a light rain, could be a heavy one. You just never know. Best to have an umbrella handy, just in case.
So, if you’re thinkin’ ’bout weather in New Orleans in October 2023, or any October for that matter, just remember what I said. It’s a mixed bag. You could get sunshine, you could get clouds, you could get a little bit of rain. Just be prepared for anythin’, and you’ll be alright. And don’t forget that jacket! You’ll thank me later, you will.
It’s nice to walk around that time of year. You ain’t sweatin’ like a hog, and you ain’t freezin’ your tail off either. Just that nice in-between weather. ‘Cept when it ain’t, of course. Then you’ll be wishin’ you had that jacket, or maybe even a hat, keep that wind off your ears.
That’s New Orleans weather for ya, especially in October. Keeps ya guessin’, that’s for sure. But it’s a good time to be there, I reckon. Just be ready for anythin’, and you’ll have a good time. No matter the weather!
