Alright, so, you wanna know about this Green Day concert in Hershey, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, though. I just tell it like it is.
So, first off, this thing was supposed to happen earlier, like in August, I think. August 10th, they said. But then, that Billie Joe fella, the singer, he had some trouble with his throat. Poor guy, can’t sing with a bad throat, can ya? So they had to go and move the whole darn thing. Yep, moved it to September 2nd. Same place, Hersheypark Stadium, just a different day.
Now, this ain’t just some small-time show, no sirree. This is a big one. They got them Smashing Pumpkins there too, and Rancid. Heard of them? I ain’t much for that loud music myself, but my grandkids, they love it. They were all excited about it. There’s another band too, The Linda Lindas, youngsters they are, girls playing instruments. My, my, how times have changed.
You wanna go? Well, you gotta get tickets, that’s for sure. They were selling them on Ticketmaster, I heard. You know, online and all that jazz. Not sure how much they cost, but these things ain’t cheap, I tell ya. Everything costs a fortune these days.
They’re calling it the “Saviors Tour.” Savior of what, I don’t know. Maybe they’re saving folks from boredom? Who knows. But people seem to like it. My grandkids were playing their music real loud the other day. Sounded like a bunch of noise to me, but they were jumping around and having a good time. Kids these days.
- So, here’s the important stuff:
- Green Day concert.
- Hersheypark Stadium, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- September 2nd, that’s the new date.
- Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid are playing too.
- Get your tickets from Ticketmaster, if you can.
I heard some folks were upset about the change, you know, having to change their plans and all. But what can ya do? Things happen. At least they didn’t cancel the whole thing. That would’ve been a real shame. Folks were coming from all over to see this thing.
My neighbor, Agnes, she went to one of them rock concerts once. Said it was so loud she thought her ears were gonna bleed. But she had a good time, she said. Said it made her feel young again. Maybe that’s why these folks go. To feel young again.
Now, if you go to this concert, make sure you wear comfortable shoes, because you’ll be standing around a lot. And bring some earplugs, if you’re like me and don’t like all that noise. And drink plenty of water, so you don’t get dehydrated. It can get hot out there, especially in September.
And one more thing: don’t forget where you parked your car. That Hersheypark place is big, and you don’t wanna be wandering around for hours after the concert trying to find your car. Happened to me once at the county fair. Took me an hour to find my old pickup truck. Never again.
So, that’s about all I know about this Green Day concert in Hershey. Hope it helps ya. If you go, have a good time. And don’t forget to tell me all about it. I’ll be here, sitting on my porch, enjoying the peace and quiet.
And for you youngsters going – Behave yourselves! No causing trouble, ya hear? Just enjoy the music, and let everyone else enjoy it too.
Oh, and one last thing. They got something called a “setlist” these days. It’s the songs they gonna play. You can probably find it online somewhere if you wanna know what to expect. Like I said, these kids and their internet thingamajigs.
