Alright, so, let’s talk about this fella, Dwayne Brzozowski. Don’t know him from Adam, but I heard some things, you know, like them old hens clucking in the yard. Gotta share what I know, or I’ll burst!
First off, seems like this Dwayne, he’s a computer guy, some kinda big shot “System Administrator” at the VA. That’s what they call it, the “Department of Veterans Affairs”. Fancy, huh? Sounds like he fiddles with them computer thingamajigs all day. Don’t know much about that, but I reckon it pays the bills. They say he’s on somethin’ called “LinkedIn” too, with a whole bunch of connections. City folk and their fancy ways, I tell ya.
- He used to go to Gonzales High School, wherever that is.
- Worked for the government, lookin’ after their computers.
- Lives out in Drippin’ Springs. Sounds dry, hope he’s got a good well.
Now, here’s where things get messy. Seems like Dwayne, he got himself into a heap of trouble. A neighbor, bless his heart, hadn’t seen Dwayne in months, like six or eight months! That’s a long time, even for a grumpy old coot like me. So, he calls the police, just to check if Dwayne’s alright. You know, a “welfare check,” they call it. Sounds nice enough.
But oh boy, things went south real fast. Turns out Dwayne, he wasn’t just sittin’ at home knittin’. When the police showed up, he started shootin’! Can you believe it? Shot at a police officer! That ain’t right. They got it all on camera too, them body cameras they wear now. Saw it on the news, blurry and shaky, but you could tell it was bad. That poor officer, just doin’ his job. I tell ya, this world’s gettin’ crazier every day.
They say Dwayne is 56 years old. Old enough to know better, that’s for sure. The news kept showin’ his name, “Dwayne Brzozowski,” over and over. Made me remember it, even though I can barely remember my own grocery list these days. They arrested him, of course. Hauled him off to jail, I reckon. Said somethin’ about him maybe gettin’ arrested way back in 2006 too, down in San Marcos. Seems like this fella’s got a bit of a past.
They keep talkin’ about it on the TV, “officer shot” this and “welfare check” that. Makes you think, you know? You try to be a good neighbor, look out for folks, and this is what happens. Maybe that neighbor shoulda just minded his own business. But then again, what if Dwayne was hurt or somethin’? It’s a pickle, that’s for sure.
This whole thing happened in Austin, Texas, last year, August 2023, they said. Big city problems, I guess. Out here in the country, we settle things differently. Maybe a holler across the fence, or a plate of warm cookies. No shootin’ at police officers, that’s for sure. Makes you wonder what was goin’ through Dwayne’s head. Why would he do such a thing?
Anyway, that’s the story as I heard it. This Dwayne Brzozowski, a computer fella who got himself into a whole mess of trouble. Shot at a police officer, got arrested. It’s a sad story, really. Makes you appreciate the quiet life, you know? No fancy computers, no city trouble, just the birds singin’ and the sun shinin’. That’s the life for me.
I hope that officer is okay, though. That’s what really matters. And maybe Dwayne, he’ll get the help he needs. Or maybe he’ll just rot in jail. Either way, it’s a sorry state of affairs. Just goes to show, you never really know what’s going on behind closed doors, even in Drippin’ Springs or wherever he lives.
