Alright, let’s talk about this Grand Lake Volleyball thing, you know? I ain’t no expert, but I’ll tell ya what I know.
First off, they got this Grand Lake Volleyball Club. Sounds fancy, huh? They say they’re all about teachin’ young’uns how to play volleyball. Good for them, I say. Keeps the kids outta trouble, ya know? They got practices all over the place, different schools and stuff. Heard tell there’s a fella named Todd Henkle and a lady named Lisa Thobe runnin’ the show. Guess they know their volleyball stuff.
Now, they got this website, somethin’ called OVR, somethin’ somethin’. Ohio somethin’. Anyways, that’s where you find directions to all them places they play volleyball at. You gotta be on time, they say. Thirty minutes early, can you believe it? My grandkid, she plays, and lemme tell ya, gettin’ her outta bed that early is a chore and a half!
- They got meetings for the parents and the players too. Gotta make sure everyone’s on the same page, I guess.
- And they make ya fill out these questionnaires, askin’ all sorts of questions. I reckon they wanna know if your kid’s got any health problems or somethin’.
Grand Lake Volleyball Club, they say they want to give the best coachin’ and a good place to learn. Teach them young’uns the basics, they say. And teach ’em to be disciplined, like real athletes. That’s important, I reckon. Teaches ’em to work hard and stick to somethin’.
They had a good season this year, 2024 they call it. Said it was their best one yet. Good for them! Makes the kids happy, and that’s all that matters, right?
If you wanna find a place to play volleyball, they got all sorts of courts around Grand Lake. Some fancy places, some not so fancy. There’s this place called The Oasis, and another one called The Events Center. Heard they’re pretty good. You can even look up reviews online, see what other folks think. But me? I just like watchin’ the kids play, seein’ them have fun.
They got an address too, a PO Box in Rockford, Ohio. Guess that’s where you send your money, or whatever. And somethin’ about SportsEngine Inc. Don’t know what that is, but it sounds important.
So, that’s the lowdown on Grand Lake Volleyball, as far as I can tell ya. It’s about kids playin’ volleyball, learnin’ new things, and havin’ fun. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it? It keeps them young’uns busy and outta trouble, and that’s what really matters in the end. Gives ’em somethin’ to do, somethin’ to be proud of.
