Well, let me tell ya, that I-35, it’s a real mess sometimes. Cars goin’ every which way, fast as a scared rabbit. Heard tell of some bad wrecks on that road, real bad.
One time, it was a Tuesday I think, yeah, Tuesday. Folks were drivin’ along, mindin’ their own business, and bam! Some fella lost control of his car. Spun right outta nowhere, like a top. Caused a big ol’ pile-up. Cars smashed like tin cans. Folks hurt bad. They had to close down a buncha lanes, traffic backed up for miles. Just a terrible thing, it was. Folks missin’ work, kids late for school, the whole nine yards.
- Scary stuff, I tell ya. Makes you think twice about gettin’ on that road.
- Always gotta be lookin’ out, never know what the other fella’s gonna do.
- Some folks drive like they got a fire under their behinds.
Then there was that other time, heard about it on the news. Some poor soul drivin’ the wrong way on I-35! Can you believe it? Head-on crash, just like that. One fella dead, another one fightin’ for his life. Makes your blood run cold, it does. Makes you wonder what in the world was goin’ through that driver’s head. Maybe they were lost, maybe somethin’ else, who knows? Just sad, real sad.
And it ain’t just cars crashin’ into each other, no sir. Sometimes, folks get hit walkin’. Heard about a fella gettin’ hit in Austin. Just walkin’ along, and boom! Gone, just like that. The police, they investigate and all, but it don’t bring that fella back, does it? Makes you appreciate every day, I tell ya. You just never know.
Thinkin’ ’bout accidents gets me thinkin’ about how dangerous drivin’ can be. Folks talk about how many people die in car crashes every year. Thousands and thousands, they say. Every day, more folks gettin’ hurt or killed. It’s a scary thought, ain’t it? You get in your car, and you just hope you get where you’re goin’ safe and sound. But there ain’t no guarantees, no sir.
I heard some folks sayin’ that a whole buncha folks get into accidents every year, even over in them foreign countries like the UK. Said somethin’ ’bout a lot of folks gettin’ hurt. Don’t matter where you are, I guess. Cars and drivin’, it’s just dangerous business. Gotta be careful, gotta pay attention.
So, what do you do? Well, you gotta be careful, that’s what. Keep your eyes on the road, don’t be messin’ with your phone, and don’t go speedin’ like a bat outta hell. And pray, that’s what I do. Pray that you get where you’re goin’ safe and sound, and that everyone else on the road does too. ‘Cause out there on I-35, or any road for that matter, it’s a jungle. And you gotta be ready for anything.
Accidents happen, that’s just life. But we can do our best to avoid them. Slow down, pay attention, and be respectful of other drivers. It ain’t hard, but it can save a life. Maybe yours, maybe someone else’s. And that’s worth more than anything, ain’t it?
Remember now, keep your eyes peeled and drive safe. That’s the best advice I can give ya.
