Well, let me tell ya ’bout them Robertsons and their church. You know, the duck call folks? Yep, them. They go to a church, a real simple one, not one of them fancy places with all the bells and whistles. It’s called the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ, down in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Now, I ain’t never been there myself, mind you, but I hear tell it’s a Church of Christ. What’s that mean? Well, it means they stick to the Bible, plain and simple. No fancy robes, no big organs playin’ loud music, just folks readin’ the Good Book and tryin’ to live a good life.
That Phil Robertson, he’s a big deal there, I reckon. He’s an elder, they say. That means he helps run the church, teaches the Bible classes and such. He ain’t shy about sharin’ his beliefs neither. He talks about God all the time, on TV and everywhere. Some folks like it, some folks don’t, but that’s Phil for ya.
The whole family, they all go to that church, I think. They seem like a close-knit bunch, always together. And that’s important, you know, havin’ a good church family. They help you out when times are tough and celebrate with ya when things are good.

- They pray together, that’s for sure.
- And they try to live by what the Bible says, even if it ain’t always easy.
Now, some folks, they got all kinds of questions about the Robertsons and their church. They wonder if they’re too strict or too loud or too this or too that. But I say, to each their own. If that’s what works for them, then that’s fine. They ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
I reckon their faith is a big part of their lives, and that’s a good thing. In this crazy world, you need somethin’ to hold on to, somethin’ to believe in. And for the Robertsons, that’s God and their church, the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ.
They probably have regular services on Sundays, maybe a Wednesday night meetin’ too. That’s how most of them churches do it ‘round here. Singin’ hymns, listenin’ to the preacher, and then shakin’ hands and goin’ home. Simple, like I said.
And let me tell ya, it ain’t always easy bein’ a Christian, especially when you’re famous like them Robertsons. People are always watchin’ ya, waitin’ for ya to mess up. But they seem to handle it pretty good. They stick together and stick to their beliefs, and that’s somethin’ to admire.
So, if you ever find yourself down in West Monroe, Louisiana, and you’re lookin’ for a good, down-to-earth church, well, you might want to check out the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. You might even see a Robertson or two. Just don’t expect nothin’ fancy, it aint a show, its a church. They just regular folks, like you and me, tryin’ to get to heaven.
