Well, howdy there! Let’s talk about this Cave Creek weather, y’know, the kind that makes your bones ache or your skin sweat. I ain’t got no fancy weather machine, but I’ve been around these parts long enough to know a thing or two about what’s comin’.
Now, they say you can look it up online, all this 15-day forecast stuff. AccuWeather, they call it. Says it can tell you what the high and low gonna be for 90 days! Can you believe that? Ninety days! I can barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.
But, let me tell you what I know, the real down-to-earth kind of weather talk. See, Cave Creek, it ain’t like them flatland places. We’re up higher, so it’s a bit cooler, thank the good Lord. But don’t you go thinkin’ we don’t get no heat. Come summertime, it gets hot, real hot. They say it’s from May to September, and the days can hit 93 degrees or more. Whew! Makes you wanna sit in the shade with a tall glass of somethin’ cold.
- But even in the summer, it cools down at night. That’s the nice thing about being up high.
- And then comes winter, and that’s a whole ‘nother story. December, that’s when it gets chilly. Not like them places up north, mind you, where it snows and freezes solid.
- Here, we get lows around 42 and highs maybe in the 60s. Pleasant, I’d say, if you got a good sweater.
Now, this 15-day forecast, they try to tell you exactly what’s gonna happen. Says it might be partly cloudy one day, then maybe some showers the next. Scattered clouds they call it. Refreshingly cool, too. Sounds nice, don’t it? But weather, it’s a tricky thing. It can change its mind faster than a cat chasing a mouse.
They got all sorts of details, these weather folks. Talk about wind speed and direction. Southwest wind at 5 mph, they say. Calm wind, mostly clear. Sounds peaceful, doesn’t it? But sometimes, that wind picks up, and you get a dust storm, and then it ain’t so peaceful anymore. That’s just life in the desert for ya.
And then there’s the temperature. They say it’s gonna be 74 degrees today, mostly sunny. And tonight, down to 44, mostly clear. Sounds about right for this time of year. But I remember one time, it was supposed to be nice and warm, and then bam! A cold front blew in, and we were all shiverin’ in our boots.
They got these weather stations too, all over the place. One at Phoenix Sky Harbor, says it’s 58 degrees and clear right now. Another one at Fort Huachuca says it’s 84 and sunny. See? Different places, different weather. That’s why I say, you gotta take it all with a grain of salt.
I heard some folks talkin’ about the cost of living in Cave Creek. Say it’s expensive. Houses cost a lot, and even the utilities ain’t cheap. Transportation too, gas and all that. But I reckon that’s the price you pay for livin’ in a nice place with good weather, most of the time anyway.
Oh, and sometimes they talk about fog in the early morning. Mainly in the west, they say. And maybe a slight chance of a shower. Well, that’s good for the plants, I guess. We need the rain, even if it’s just a little bit. This desert, it can get mighty dry.
So, there you have it. My take on the Cave Creek weather. Don’t rely too much on them fancy forecasts, I say. Just look outside, feel the air, and you’ll know what’s comin’. And if you don’t, well, just wait a bit, it’ll change soon enough.
Cave Creek weather, it’s a mix of sunshine and clouds, heat and cool, wind and calm. Just like life, I guess. You take the good with the bad, and you keep on goin’. That’s all you can do.
