Alright, so you wanna know about this Archbishop Coleman Carroll football, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, it ain’t gonna be fancy talk, just plain and simple.
Archbishop Carroll High School Football, that’s the Bulldogs, right? I hear they play football over there in Miami. Big boys, runnin’ and smashin’ into each other. Sounds like a whole lotta ruckus to me, but folks seem to like it.
Now, I ain’t been to no fancy games, but my grandson, he goes on and on about it. He’s always yellin’ about scores and schedules and such. Says they got a team, the Bulldogs, and they play other schools. He’s got this thing called “MaxPreps” on his phone, always lookin’ at it. Says it tells him everything ’bout the games. Scores and all that jazz.
He was tellin’ me just the other day, seems like they had a real nail-biter of a game. Down to the wire, it was. Just a few seconds left, and this kid, Ethan Silva, kicked a field goal. A long one too, 29 yards they said. Won the game for ‘em! 38 to 35, somethin’ like that. My grandson, he was jumpin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. Kids these days, I tell ya.
- They got a website, I think. Shows all the games, when they playin’, and who they playin’ against. My grandson showed me once, but it was all a blur to me. Too much clickin’ and tappin’ for my old bones.
- And livestreams, too! Imagine that, watchin’ the game on your little phone or your big picture box. My grandson, he watches it all the time. Says he can see the whole game, even if he ain’t there. Fancy stuff, I tell ya.
They play in the fall, that’s what my grandson says. Fall football, he calls it. Seems like they play a whole bunch of games, all through the fall. And they got rankings too, like who’s the best and who’s not so good. My grandson, he’s always checkin’ them rankings. Gets all worked up if the Bulldogs ain’t at the top.
They got news too, ’bout the team. Who’s playin’ well, who got hurt, all that kinda stuff. My grandson, he reads it all. Says it keeps him in the loop. I just nod along, pretendin’ I understand half of what he’s sayin’. But he seems to enjoy it, so that’s all that matters.
They got a roster, too, a big ol’ list of all the players. My grandson knows all their names, can tell you who plays what position. Quarterback, running back, all them fancy words. I just call ‘em all football players. They all run around and hit each other, that’s all I need to know.
So yeah, that’s pretty much what I know about this Archbishop Coleman Carroll football. Big team, lots of games, lots of excitement. My grandson loves it, so I guess it must be somethin’ special. Even if I don’t understand all the fuss, it’s good to see the young’uns havin’ fun and gettin’ all riled up. Makes you feel young again, kinda. At least until my knees start achin’.
And from what I gather, they have a full schedule every year. Seems like they played in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and they’re already set for 2024 and 2025. That’s a lot of football, if you ask me. But like I said, the young’uns love it.
Anyways, that’s all I got for ya. Hope it makes some sense. If you want the real details, you better go ask one of them young folks with their fancy phones and their “MaxPreps.” They know a whole lot more than this old lady.
