Caney Valley Football Scores: Follow the Trojans This Season

Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this Caney Valley football, you know, the kind them young’uns play. I don’t know much about fancy sports and all that, but I hear things, see things, and I can tell ya what I know.

The Caney Valley Trojans, that’s what they call ’em. Sounds like a tough bunch, like them fellas who fought in them old war movies. I reckon they run around a lot, chasin’ after that there… football. It’s a brown thing, kinda pointy, and they throw it and kick it. Don’t make much sense to me, but they seem to like it.

  • They got a schedule, ya know, like a calendar but for football. Tells ya when they’re gonna play and who they’re gonna play against.
  • I heard tell of some places… Nowata High School Ironmen, Quapaw High School Wildcats… sounds like a zoo to me! But these young fellas, they go and play ’em.
  • And they got scores too. That’s how you know if they won or lost. More points you get, the better you done. Simple as that.

Now, I ain’t got no fancy TV to watch these games on, but I hear folks talkin’. They say the Trojans, sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. It’s like life, ain’t it? Ups and downs, wins and losses. You just gotta keep on keepin’ on.

I see them young’uns sometimes, after a game. All sweaty and tired, but they got a look in their eyes, you know? Like they done somethin’ important. Even if they lost, they gave it their all. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.

They got videos and articles too, I heard. Fancy stuff, all about the Trojans. I wouldn’t know how to look at them, but some folks do. They keep track of all the scores and who played who. They call it “season scores”. Sounds official, like somethin’ the government would do.

This year, or maybe it was last year, time flies so fast these days, they didn’t do so good. Lost a lot of games, I heard. But that don’t mean they ain’t tryin’. They gotta practice and train and all that. It’s hard work, I tell ya. Just like farmin’, only instead of plantin’ seeds, they’re… well, I don’t rightly know what they’re doin’, but it sure looks like hard work.

Some games, they get beat bad. Like that time, what was it, 44 to 6? Ouch! That gotta hurt. And another one, 28 to nothin’. Man, that’s rough. But they keep goin’, them Trojans. They don’t give up. That’s the spirit, I say. You get knocked down, you get back up and try again.

They got a coach too, some fella named Stephen Mitchell. I guess he tells them what to do, like how to run and throw and all that. He probably yells a lot, coaches usually do. But he’s just tryin’ to make them better, you know? Like a farmer teachin’ a young’un how to plow a field.

This Caney Valley football, it’s more than just a game, I think. It’s about teamwork, and learnin’, and tryin’ your best. It’s about community, too. Folks comin’ together to cheer on them young’uns. It gives them somethin’ to do, keeps ’em out of trouble, maybe. And it gives us somethin’ to talk about, ain’t that right? So, even if I don’t understand all the rules and whatnot, I can still appreciate the effort and the spirit of them Caney Valley Trojans. They’re good kids, workin’ hard, and that’s all that matters.

And they play at Caney Valley High School, over in Ramona. Ramona, that’s a good town. Folks there are friendly, and they love their football. They even got somethin’ called a “School Hub”, sounds like the center of everythin’. I bet that’s where they keep all the trophies and pictures and stuff. Must be a sight to see.

So that’s what I know about Caney Valley football. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. Just a bunch of young’uns playin’ a game, tryin’ their best, and makin’ their town proud. And that, I reckon, is a good thing.
