Alright, so you wanna know about the weather in Alvin, Texas, for the next two weeks, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it’s been kinda all over the place lately. I ain’t no fancy weatherman, mind you, but I got my eyes and I can feel the wind, so I’ll tell ya what I know.
This week, it’s been kinda mild, you know? Not too hot, not too cold. Daytime, it’s been gettin’ up to maybe the high sixties, sometimes even the seventies if the sun’s really beamin’. Nights are cool, though, down in the fifties. You’ll need a blanket, for sure.
I heard tell on the radio this mornin’ that it’s gonna be mostly sunny for a bit. That’s good, ’cause sunshine makes everything feel better, don’t it? But they also said somethin’ ’bout wind. Not too strong, just a little whisper of a wind, mostly from the south, then switchin’ around to the north. Keeps things from gettin’ too stuffy, I guess.
Now, for the next couple of days, they’re sayin’ it’ll stay pretty much the same. Sunny, maybe a few clouds here and there, temperatures stayin’ in that comfortable range. Nights will still be cool, so don’t go puttin’ away them blankets just yet.
- Daytime: Highs in the upper 60s, maybe low 70s.
- Nighttime: Lows around 50, sometimes a bit lower.
- Wind: Mostly light, shiftin’ from south to north.
- Sky: Mostly sunny, some clouds possible.
But listen here, ’cause this is important. They sayin’ things might change a bit next week. It could get a little warmer, maybe up into the high seventies, or even the low eighties. That’s gettin’ on towards hot, wouldn’t you say? And there’s talk of some rain comin’ in. Not a big storm or nothin’, just some showers. But you know how it is down here in Texas, the weather can change its mind quicker than a cat can lick its paw.
They’re talkin’ about the pressure too, somethin’ about “barometric pressure” bein’ steady. I don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important. They measure it in inches of somethin’ called mercury. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Whatever it is, it seems to be holdin’ steady, so I guess that’s good. Means the weather ain’t gonna go crazy on us, at least not right away.
I heard tell that back in ’79, Alvin got somethin’ like 42 inches of rain in just two days! Can you imagine that? That’s enough to float a boat down Main Street! Thankfully, they ain’t predictin’ nothin’ like that this time. Just a few showers, they say. Still, it’s always a good idea to keep an umbrella handy, just in case.
Now, this is just what I’ve been hearin’, mind you. Like I said, I ain’t no weather expert. But I’ve lived around here long enough to know that the weather can be a tricky thing. One minute it’s sunshine and smiles, the next minute it’s rainin’ cats and dogs. So you always gotta be prepared for anything.
The schools are doin’ alright, they tell me. Above average, they say. And lots of families livin’ here, most folks own their own homes. It’s a good place to be, Alvin is. Even if the weather does like to keep us on our toes.
So, to sum it all up, it sounds like we’re gonna have some nice weather for the next few days, then it might get a little warmer and wetter next week. But don’t hold me to it, you hear? ‘Cause the weather’s got a mind of its own, and it don’t always listen to what the weatherman says. You just keep an eye on the sky, and you’ll be alright.
And remember, whether it’s sunny or rainy, hot or cold, life goes on. We got plenty of parks here in Alvin, so you can always find a place to enjoy the outdoors, no matter what the weather’s doin’. Just be prepared, and you’ll be fine. Now, go on and get yourself a cup of coffee, and don’t worry too much about the weather. It’ll do what it’s gonna do, and we’ll just have to deal with it.
