This here thing about Troy Landry, that gator-catching fella, got all twisted up, I tell ya. He’s a big shot on that Swamp People show, always wrasslin’ them big ol’ lizards. Well, seems like he got himself into a bit of a pickle, this Troy Landry sting thing, all about where he was allowed to hunt them gators.
You see, down here in the swamp, things ain’t always as clear as a sunny day. Folks got their land, and you gotta be careful where you go traipsin’ around. This Troy, he’s been doin’ this alligator hunting for a long time, you’d think he’d know. I reckon even the big shots make mistakes. It happened in the Atchafalaya River Basin. I heard people said, Troy and his son Jacob were hunting alligators there. It’s a big place to hunt!
Seems like he was on some land, and somebody thought he shouldn’t be there. Now, I ain’t takin’ sides, but it sounds like a whole mess of confusion. They said this Troy had permission, then they said he didn’t. Lord have mercy, it’s enough to make your head spin. They said Troy Landry is a famed gator hunter, but it doesn’t matter this time.
Them wildlife folks, they got involved, you know, the ones from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. They gotta make sure everyone’s followin’ the rules, keepin’ things straight. It’s their job, and they take it serious. I guess they checked and found out Troy did have permission to hunt gators there. But it’s a big deal when you get caught.
That Swamp People show, it’s been on for a good while now. I remember when it first started. Lots of folks on there, chasin’ them gators. Some of ’em ain’t with us anymore, like that Randy Edwards and that Mitchell Guist fella. Sad, but that’s life, I suppose. The show just started a new season. I think it’s the 15th season. They still hunt alligators, but some people are gone.
But this Troy Landry sting, it just goes to show, even if you’re on TV, you gotta watch where you step. Rules are rules, and they apply to everyone, big shot or not.
