Oh Lord, I tell ya, wrecks on that I-35 seem to happen every darn day. People just don’t slow down, and next thing you know, there’s a mess of cars and trucks all bunched up, blocking the road. Ain’t nobody got the time to deal with a wreck, but it sure does happen. Folks get hurt, cars get totaled, and traffic gets all backed up for miles.
Like just the other day, down there in New Braunfels, Texas, a 31-year-old fella lost his life in a wreck on I-35 South, just near Engel Road. It’s a darn shame, I tell ya. I don’t know what happened exactly, but I reckon the man didn’t make it. All I can say is, you gotta drive careful on that highway, or you could end up in the same kind of mess. Ain’t no reason for such tragedy, but it sure happens too often on that road.
And it ain’t just Texas either. Over in Oklahoma City, I heard the wreck on I-35 southbound lanes was causing a mess in the morning traffic. People just trying to get to work or get home, and suddenly, there’s all this delay because some poor soul or truck driver couldn’t keep it on the road. I tell ya, traffic ain’t fun when there’s a wreck, and it makes everybody late for whatever they were doing. Ain’t no telling how long it takes for them folks to clear up that mess. They gotta tow cars, clear debris, and make sure nobody else gets hurt. It ain’t a pretty sight, no sir.
But wait, there’s more. Down in Austin, the fire department was called to a “major accident” on I-35, down south where the road winds a bit. Two folks got hurt bad, and you can bet they didn’t see it coming. One minute you’re cruising down the highway, and the next, you’re in an ambulance. That’s why I always say, slow down, take it easy, and keep your eyes on the road. ‘Cause you just never know when something’s gonna go wrong.
There was also a wreck up in northeast Oklahoma City that morning, involving a jack-knifed semi-trailer. You ever seen one of them big trucks turned sideways like that? It’s like a giant wall across the highway. That really messes things up for everybody. The southbound lanes were blocked for a while, and the poor drivers just had to sit there and wait until they cleared the wreck. I can’t even imagine how frustrating that must’ve been, especially when you’re just trying to get somewhere, and now you gotta wait hours because of some bad luck.
And, speaking of wrecks, up in Ohio, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a crash on US-35 on a Saturday morning. Now, I’m not saying Ohio is full of wrecks, but this one sure took its toll. They say two people were killed. It’s heartbreaking to hear, and it makes you realize just how fragile life is. We’re all in such a rush, but sometimes, it only takes a second for everything to change.
Now, I don’t know all the details about these wrecks, and I don’t wanna judge nobody, but one thing’s for sure: driving that I-35 is dangerous. Whether it’s the semi-trucks, the crazy drivers, or just bad luck, it feels like it’s always something. If you’re out there on that road, you gotta be careful. I don’t care if you’re driving a big ol’ truck or a little car, you best pay attention and watch out for other folks. Things can go sideways fast, and you don’t want to be caught in the middle of it.
So, next time you hit that highway, just remember: slow down, pay attention, and keep your distance. Ain’t no shame in driving a little slow if it means staying safe. I’d rather be late than end up in a wreck. That’s the truth of it, right there. And folks, if you see something up ahead, don’t go rushing in. Keep your head and stay calm.
