Hey there, honey. Let me tell you, I heard something terrible on the news. It’s about that shooting in North Austin, TX. Makes my old heart just ache. You know, it ain’t like the old days. Back then, we didn’t have so much of this bad stuff going on.
Well, they said on the TV, some folks got hurt real bad. One poor woman, bless her soul, she didn’t make it. Two other people, they got hurt too. It’s a darn shame, that’s what it is. Shooting, they called it. Just like that, someone’s life is gone. Makes you wonder what this world is coming to.
They say it happened up in North Austin. Now, I ain’t too familiar with that part of town, but it sounds like a real mess. Police are all over the place, trying to figure out what happened. They got this one fella, they think he did it. He’s the suspect, they say. Lock him up and throw away the key, I say!
This kind of thing, it just scares the living daylights out of me. Makes you want to stay inside, lock your doors, and never come out. But you can’t live like that, can you? We gotta go about our business, but it’s hard when you hear about such awful things. This shooting is just another reminder to be careful, I guess.
I remember one time, back when I was a young’un, we had a bit of trouble down by the creek. Nothing like this, though. Just some boys getting into a fistfight. Nobody got seriously hurt, thank goodness. But this Austin shooting, this is a whole different story. It is really serious, you know.

It’s enough to make you sick to your stomach. It makes you worry about your own kids and grandkids, doesn’t it? You just want to keep them safe, protect them from all the bad things in the world. But you can’t always do that, can you?
This whole thing, it just makes you think about how precious life is. One minute you’re here, the next you’re gone. It’s a reminder to cherish every moment, to love the people around you, and to be grateful for what you have. I really think it’s important to remember that.
I hope they catch whoever did this. I really do. And I hope they get the help they need. I hope the two injured folks, they can get the care they need, too, and they can recover. It ain’t gonna be easy, but I hope they can find some peace. They should get justice for what happened to them. They really deserve it, don’t they?
I’ll be praying for all of them. That’s all an old woman like me can do. Pray for peace, pray for healing, and pray that things get better. This shooting is just another reminder of how much we need it. It’s a crazy world we’re living in, ain’t it? Makes you miss the good old days, that’s for sure.
They said on the TV that the Austin police have a man they think is the one. They’re trying to figure out why he did it. It sounds like a big mystery. What makes people do things like that? It’s hard to understand, that’s what it is.
This kind of thing, it just makes you want to hold your loved ones close. Makes you appreciate the little things, like a good meal and a roof over your head. We gotta be thankful for what we have, that’s for sure. It’s a scary world. You just never know what’s gonna happen. That’s why you have to be careful and take care of one another.
When these things happen, I think about the families. It is really important to take care of the families. People should be nice to one another, and care for the families in Austin. It is the right thing to do when there is a shooting. They need love and care.
