Alright, let’s gab about filming locations in Philadelphia, you know, where them movie folks be shootin’ their pictures. I heard tell some folks like to go see these places, so I figured I’d yap about it a bit.
Philly, that’s a big city, lots of hustle and bustle. And wouldn’t ya know it, them Hollywood types like it there. They been makin’ movies in Philly for donkey’s years. I reckon it’s got all sorts of lookin’ places, fancy and plain, old and new. Makes sense they’d wanna film there, I guess.
- Law Abiding Citizen: Now this one, they say they filmed the whole shebang right there in Philly. City Hall, that’s where they did them courtroom scenes. Fancy place, City Hall, all big and stone-like. They also went to the University of Pennsylvania library – I bet that’s full of dusty old books – and Mount Sinai Hospital, prob’ly not the best place to be visitin’ if ya ain’t sick. Oh, and that Spectrum arena too, where they play all them sports games, loud and rowdy, ya know?
Seems like them moviemakers is always crawlin’ all over Philly. Just this year, 2024 I mean, they’re makin’ a bunch of pictures. Heard tell of somethin’ called “Sinking Spring” and “Delco: The Movie”. And another one, “Long Bright River,” that’s supposed to be about Kensington. Don’t know much about Kensington, but I heard it ain’t the fanciest part of town.
Now, if you’re one of them movie buffs, you can go visit where they made all them pictures. There’s lists and maps and such, showin’ ya where everything is. I ain’t got much use for that myself, but some folks like it. You can even see ‘em filmin’ sometimes, if you’re lucky. Like a live show, but with cameras and all that jazz.
Philadelphia movie locations, that’s what we’re talkin’ about, ain’t it? It’s a popular spot, that’s for sure. And it ain’t just the new stuff, they been filmin’ there forever. Everybody knows about Rocky, right? That fella runnin’ up them steps. That’s Philly, plain as day.
This city, it’s got a look, ya know? A feel. And when they make movies there, that look and feel, it gets right into the picture. Makes it real, I reckon. Whether it’s a fancy courtroom or a run-down street, it’s all Philly. And that’s why them movie folks keep comin’ back, time and again.

Just look around, you might be standin’ right where some famous actor stood, sayin’ their lines and makin’ believe. It’s a whole different world, that moviemakin’ business. But it all happens right here, in the real world, in places like Philadelphia.
And that’s the long and short of it, best as I can tell ya. Philly’s a big deal for them movies. Lots of places to film, lots of stories to tell. And if you’re lookin’ to visit these movie filming locations, well, now you know a little somethin’ about where to start. You can look up a list or just wander around, might be surprised what you find. Philly’s full of surprises, that much I know.

I’ll stick to watchin’ the movies on the TV, that’s excitement enough for this old gal. But you young’uns, you go on and have your fun.
