Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Caney Creek football schedule, y’know? It’s a real hodgepodge of games, if you ask me. Football, football, always with the football. Them boys are runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off, bless their hearts.
So, I heard tell they got a bunch of games lined up. Looks like they’re playin’ all sorts of teams. Big ones, small ones, some I ain’t never even heard of. The Caney Creek Panthers, that’s what they call ’em. Panthers, huh? Sounds fierce, I guess. Hope they got some bite to go with that bark.
- Game one, they’re playin’… uh… somebody. Can’t rightly recall the name, but it’s on the schedule, yessiree.
- Then there’s game two, and that’s against… well, another bunch of fellas. They all wear helmets and pads, so they kinda look the same to me, ya know?
- Game three, now that one’s important, I think. Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it at the market. Said it’s a big rivalry game. Guess that means our boys gotta win that one, or there’ll be trouble.
They got this 2024 schedule all set up, they say. Dates and times and all that fancy stuff. I don’t pay much mind to that. Just tell me when to show up and cheer, and I’ll be there. As long as it ain’t rainin’, mind you. This old lady ain’t sittin’ in the rain for nobody, not even them Panthers.
Now, they got this website, * they call it. Said the schedule is on there. I ain’t got no computer, mind you. Too newfangled for me. But my grandson, he showed me the thing once. All them numbers and words, made my head spin. But I saw the schedule, plain as day. Caney Creek football schedule, right there it was.
They play in somethin’ called District 13, that’s what I heard. And it’s 6A, whatever that means. Sounds important though, with all them numbers and letters. I guess it means they’re playin’ against some tough competition.
And the scores, oh, the scores! Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s just how it goes with football, I reckon. One week they’re on top of the world, the next they’re lickin’ their wounds. But them boys, they keep on playin’. Gotta admire that, I do.
They got somethin’ called rosters, I think. That’s just a fancy word for a list of names, far as I can tell. All them boys who are playin’. I don’t know most of ’em personally, but I cheer for ’em all the same. They’re our boys, representin’ Caney Creek. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of.
Rankings, now that’s another thing. Seems like folks are always rankin’ things these days. Who’s the best, who’s the worst, and all that. I don’t pay much mind to that either. As long as them boys are tryin’ their best, that’s all that matters to me.
So yeah, that Caney Creek football schedule, it’s a whole thing. Games and scores, and rankings and such. But at the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of boys playin’ a game. And that’s somethin’ worth watchin’, I suppose. Even if it does give this old lady a headache sometimes.
And them boys are always lookin’ for the latest news, they tell me. Football news, that is. Who’s injured, who’s playin’ good, all that gossip. I just nod and smile. It’s all Greek to me, most of the time. But I’m happy for them, bless their hearts.
