Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Dwight Yoakam. You know, the country singer? Some folks been askin’ if he’s got that… whatchamacallit… testicular cancer. Well, hold your horses, ’cause from what I hear, it ain’t true.
Now, I ain’t no doctor, mind you, but I can read. And what I read says he had some trouble with his voice, bronchitis and laryngitis they called it. That’s why he had to stop singin’ at some show, somethin’ about a Railbird Festival in Kentucky. He’s gettin’ on in years, that Dwight, 67 they say. Things start fallin’ apart when you get old, that’s for sure.
But cancer? Testicular cancer? I ain’t seen nothin’ ’bout that. They woulda made a big fuss, you know? Like that fella, Lance Armstrong, who had it bad but then went on to win all them bicycle races. They talked about him all the time.
- If Dwight had somethin’ serious like that, we’d know. The news would be all over the place.
- They say there’s stages to that cancer stuff. But if Dwight had it, they’d tell us which stage, right? Ain’t heard nothin’ like that.
I read somewhere that some other singer fella, Twine Shopkin, they call him the Dwight Yoakam of Los Angeles, he got brain cancer. That’s terrible, poor fella. But that ain’t Dwight Yoakam. See, people get things mixed up all the time.
Dwight, he’s been singin’ since way back, 1986 I think it was. “Honky Tonk Man” was the song, real catchy. He’s had a whole bunch of songs since then, even some number one hits. A fella like that, he’s in the public eye. You can’t hide things when you’re famous. Someone woulda said somethin’ if he was sick with cancer, specially that kind.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ he’s perfectly healthy. Like I said, age gets to ya. And that voice trouble, that’s somethin’. But cancer, that’s a different story. And from all the things I’ve read, and I read a lot, there’s nothin’ to back it up.
So, does Dwight Yoakam have testicular cancer? From what I can tell, the answer is a big, fat NO. He’s just an old fella with a voice problem, that’s all. Now, let’s hope he gets better and keeps singin’ those country tunes. He’s a good one, that Dwight. Always liked his music, even if I can’t understand half the words sometimes.
And you know what else? They say there are all sorts of little facts about Dwight that folks don’t know. Intriguing things, they call ’em. But nothin’ about cancer, mind you. Just goes to show, you can’t believe everything you hear. Gotta do your own research, like I do. Keeps you from spreadin’ rumors and such.
So there you have it. The straight scoop, as far as I can tell. No cancer for Dwight, just a bit of trouble with his pipes. And that’s that.
And let me tell you somethin’ else, people like to gossip. They like to make up stories. Sometimes they even lie in those early interviews they do. You gotta be careful what you believe. That’s why I stick to the facts, the things I can see and read for myself.
They talk about cancer treatment and cancer research. And that’s important stuff, don’t get me wrong. But it ain’t got nothin’ to do with Dwight, not right now anyway. He’s just tryin’ to rest his voice and get back on stage. That’s what I heard, and that’s what I believe.
