Walmart Black Friday 2014: What Deals You Missed

Listen up, y’all! Let’s talk about this Black Friday thing at Walmart back in 2014. I ain’t no fancy shopper, but I know a good deal when I see one, and that year, Walmart was the place to be, let me tell ya.

The Big Deals and All That Jazz

Walmart Black Friday 2014: What Deals You Missed

Back then, everyone was hollerin’ about Walmart’s Black Friday sales. They had these things called “doorbusters.” Now, I don’t know what a “doorbuster” is supposed to bust, maybe your wallet, ha! But they said if you got there early, you could snag some real cheap stuff. They even promised they’d have enough of those things for at least an hour. Sounded good to me, though I never did get up that early. Too old for that mess.

They had all sorts of things on sale, you know? TVs, them big flat ones, and toys for the young’uns. And clothes, too. Lord knows, everyone needs clothes, though I got enough to last me a lifetime, I reckon. They had this thing called “Cyber Monday” too, somethin’ about shoppin’ on that internet thingy. Never did understand that, myself. I like to see what I’m buyin’ with my own two eyes, ya know?

Returnin’ Stuff and Such

Now, sometimes you buy somethin’ and it ain’t quite right. Maybe it’s broke, or maybe it just don’t fit. Walmart, they were pretty good about takin’ things back, especially durin’ that Black Friday time. If you bought somethin’ between October and December, you had until the end of January to take it back. Or you could just do the regular 90 days, whatever that means. Seemed fair enough to me.

Walmart Plus and Bein’ Special

These days, they got this thing called “Walmart Plus.” Folks who pay for it get to shop early, before all the good stuff is gone. They also get other things, but I ain’t sure what. Sounds like a fancy way to spend more money if you ask me, but some folks like to be special, I guess. Back in 2014, I don’t think they had that, or maybe they did and I just didn’t pay no mind. Didn’t need it then, don’t need it now.

Keepin’ an Eye Out

People were always sayin’ you gotta keep an eye out for the best deals. They had these things called “ads,” little papers and such, tellin’ you what was gonna be on sale. And websites, too, though I don’t mess with them much. Too complicated for an old woman like me. But I heard tell you could find some good deals online if you knew where to look. Me? I just went to the store and hoped for the best.

The Whole Month of Savin’s

They didn’t just have sales on one day, you know. It was the whole month of November, they said. Deals and discounts everywhere you looked. Made it kinda hard to choose, if you ask me. Too much stuff, too many choices. But I guess that’s better than nothin’, right? People were always talkin’ about savin’ money, and Walmart sure gave ’em a chance to do it that year.

The Holiday Spirit and All

They said it was all about the “holiday spirit.” I guess that means bein’ happy and spendin’ money, ha! But it was nice to see folks gettin’ excited about findin’ a good deal. And it was nice to see the stores all decorated and such. Made things feel a little bit special, even if you weren’t buyin’ nothin’. Just bein’ there, seein’ all the hustle and bustle, that was somethin’.

Walmart in 2014, huh? It was a time, that’s for sure. Lots of sales, lots of people, and lots of stuff to buy. I don’t remember everything, mind you, but I remember it bein’ a big deal. And I reckon that’s all that matters.
