Well, let me tell ya about the weather in Indiana come August. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. Hot, sometimes wet, sometimes just plain muggy. You gotta be ready for anything, that’s for sure.
August in Indiana, what’s it like? Well, it’s still summer, so it’s gonna be warm. They say it’s a good time to visit, but you know what? Lots of folks think so too, so it gets crowded. I reckon if you wanna come, you come. Just be ready for folks everywhere. And the heat, don’t forget the heat.
Now, they say the best time to come is May to September. That’s when the weather’s nice, not too hot, not too cold. But August, it’s still summer, so expect summer weather. It’s hot alright, gets up in the 80s during the day, sometimes even higher. And at night, it cools down a bit, maybe into the 60s, sometimes a bit cooler. But mostly, it’s warm, you know?
They say it’s busiest in June, July and August for folks comin’ to visit. Guess they like the warm weather or something. Me? I’m used to it. Lived here my whole life, seen it all. Hot summers, cold winters, and everything in between.
- Daytime temps: Up in the 80s, sometimes higher. Gotta wear light clothes, you know, cotton shirts, maybe shorts if you ain’t too shy.
- Nighttime temps: Down in the 60s, sometimes cooler. But still warm enough you don’t need a heavy blanket.
- Rain: Oh yeah, it rains. Sometimes a lot, sometimes a little. You never really know. Always good to have an umbrella handy, or just a good hat. Keeps the sun off your head too, you know.
They say early fall is nice too, September and October, but August…well, it’s still summer. You wanna come in August, you come prepared for hot weather and maybe some rain too. And lots of people, don’t forget the people. They come from all over, I reckon, to see…well, I don’t know what they come to see. But they come.
Now, in Indianapolis, it’s pretty much the same as the rest of the state. Hot in the day, a little cooler at night. They got fancy ways of sayin’ it, like ‘daily highs’ and ‘daily lows,’ but it all boils down to the same thing: it’s hot! They say it might get up to 91 degrees, sometimes, and down to 54 at night, but usually it’s just hot, you know?
The rain, it comes and goes. They say April and May are the wettest, but it can rain anytime in August, too. You just gotta be ready for it. It ain’t no use complainin’ about the weather, it’s gonna do what it’s gonna do. You just gotta go with it.
So, if you’re comin’ to Indiana in August, bring your summer clothes, bring an umbrella, and bring your patience. Cause it’s gonna be hot, it might rain, and there’s gonna be a lot of folks around. But, it can still be a nice time, you know? Just gotta be prepared.
What to wear? Well, like I said, light clothes. Shorts, t-shirts, sandals, that kinda stuff. And a hat, always a good idea to wear a hat. Keeps the sun off your face. And if you’re gonna be out walking around, wear good shoes. Don’t wanna be gettin’ blisters now, do ya?
And that’s pretty much all there is to it. August in Indiana. Hot, sometimes wet, and always busy. You been warned!
