Alright, let’s gab about these “podcasts filmed in Austin.” I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but I do know a thing or two about listenin’ to folks chatter.
Now, they tell me Austin’s got a whole heap of these “podcasts.” Sounds like a bunch of radio shows, but they put ’em on the computer too, or somethin’. I guess folks like to listen to other folks talkin’ ’bout stuff. Lord knows, I could talk your ear off about my chickens if you let me.
Anyways, they got all sorts of podcasts in Austin. Some about that there “tech” stuff, which I reckon is all about them fancy phones and computers. My grandson’s always fiddlin’ with one of them things. Then there’s the “true crime” ones, where they talk about bad folks doin’ bad things. Kinda like them soap operas my neighbor watches, but real, I guess.
- Tech podcasts: I ain’t got a clue what they’re jabberin’ about half the time, but some folks like it.
- True crime podcasts: Scary stuff, but folks seem to eat it up. Makes you wonder what kinda world we live in.
- Pop culture podcasts: They talk about them movie stars and singers. Honestly, I can’t keep up with who’s who these days.
- Comedy podcasts: Supposed to make you laugh. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Humor’s a funny thing, you know?
- News podcasts: Keepin’ you up to date on what’s happening in the world. Though half the time it’s just bad news, so I try not to listen too much.
- Sports podcasts: Men yellin’ about balls and such. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own, I say.
- History podcasts: Now, these can be interesting. Learnin’ about how things used to be. Though sometimes I think they make it all sound fancier than it really was.
They say some of these podcasts are real popular, climb up the charts like a squirrel up a tree. Apple Podcasts and Spotify, whatever them things are, they keep track of it all. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I’d rather be out in the garden, pullin’ weeds.
And get this, some of them podcasts are about movies! “Movie podcasts,” they call ’em. Folks sit around and talk about them moving pictures. I remember when movies were a big deal. We’d all go to the picture show on a Saturday night. Now you can watch ’em on your phone, I hear. Times sure do change.
I heard tell of one podcast where some fella was talkin’ ’bout playin’ that Elvis fella in a movie. “Elvis,” he was a singer, real popular back in my day. Shook his hips and all that. Now they’re makin’ movies about him. And podcasts about the movies about him. My head’s spinnin’ just thinkin’ about it. This fella on the podcast was talkin’ about how hard he worked to be like Elvis. Guess that’s what they call “dedication,” like how I’m dedicated to gettin’ them pesky squirrels out of my bird feeders.
These podcasts, they cover just about everything. Tech, crime, sports, history, them movie stars, even just folks talkin’ for a laugh. They call ’em “audio adventures.” Sounds fancy, but it’s just people talkin’, ain’t it? Though I guess sometimes listenin’ to folks talk is an adventure in itself.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to listen to while you’re doin’ chores, or sittin’ on the porch swing, maybe give one of these Austin podcasts a try. You might find somethin’ you like. Or you might just end up turnin’ it off and listenin’ to the birds sing. Either way, it’s your time, you spend it how you want.
There’s a whole bunch of these podcasts out there, just waitin’ for you to listen. And if you don’t like one, there’s always another. It’s like pickin’ tomatoes in the garden, gotta find the ripe ones.
But fair warnin’, some of them podcasts use fancy words and talk about things I ain’t never heard of. But that’s alright, you can just skip them and find the ones you understand. It’s all about finding somethin’ that tickles your fancy, just like finding the perfect quilt pattern or bakin’ a good apple pie.
Anyways, that’s the lowdown on them podcasts in Austin, as best as I can tell ya. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go shoo a hawk away from my chickens. Them critters are always lookin’ for a free meal.
