Alright, let’s talk about them Pflugerville soccer fields, y’know, the places where them youngsters go runnin’ around kickin’ a ball. I ain’t no expert, but I seen a thing or two, and I heard some folks chatterin’.
First off, they got this place, 800 South Heatherwilde Boulevard. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just a soccer field, plain and simple. Kids play there, parents yell, same as anywhere else. They got some kinda newsletter, “The Pitch” they call it, and somethin’ called “Pflugerville FC.” Don’t ask me what it all means, I just know they kick balls there.
Now, some folks say there’s a bunch of soccer fields around here, like them fellas on that “Yelp” thing. They talkin’ ’bout “Top 10 Best Soccer Fields,” but I reckon it’s all the same to them kids. They just wanna play, ain’t that right? They mentioned Austin Indoor Soccer, Northeast Metropolitan Park, 1849 Park, Wells Point Park, and Springbrook Neighborhood Park. That’s a whole lotta places to kick a ball, I tell ya. Too many if you ask me.
But here’s the thing, they got signs everywhere now sayin’ “NO Soccer Parking.” Can you believe it? Folks gotta park somewhere, right? Seems like they built all these fields but didn’t think about where folks gonna put their cars. Makes no sense, if you ask me. Just like them city folks, always doin’ things halfway.
- One thing’s for sure, Pflugerville’s growin’ like a weed. I remember when it was just a small town, barely a blink on the map. Now, they got folks movin’ in left and right. They say it’s ’cause it’s cheaper to live here than in Austin, and there’s jobs and all that.
- Back in 1965, they had a vote, and that’s how Pflugerville became a city. Can you imagine? Just a handful of folks, maybe 400 or 450, and they made this place a city. Now, they sayin’ there’s over 60,000 people livin’ here. That’s a whole lotta folks, and a whole lotta soccer players, I guess.
And they got these tournaments too, like the Pflugerville FC Pfall Cup 2024. Tournaments, you say? Sounds like a big deal. Kids comin’ from all over, I bet. All that runnin’ around, just to kick a ball. Well, I guess it keeps ‘em outta trouble, or maybe gets ‘em into trouble, who knows these days?
They even got a whole directory of soccer fields, not just in Pflugerville, but all over the place. Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, all them fancy places. Seems like everyone’s gone soccer crazy. I don’t get it, myself. Back in my day, we just played in the dirt, didn’t need no fancy fields. But times change, I guess.
Anyway, that’s what I know about them Pflugerville soccer fields. They’re there, kids play on ‘em, folks complain about parking, and the town keeps on growin’. Life goes on, even if I don’t understand half of it.
So if you’re lookin’ for a place for your young’uns to kick a ball, Pflugerville’s got plenty of ’em. Just watch out for them “NO Parking” signs, and don’t expect me to explain the rules. I’m just tellin’ it like it is.
