Alright, so you wanna know about this Wildwood Country Music Festival, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it’s a big to-do, a real hootenanny! They got all sorts of singers and music and whatnot. I heard tell it’s gonna be in Wildwood, New Jersey, that place by the sea. They say it’s gonna be June 19th to 22nd in 2025. That’s next year, y’know. Time flies like a bat outta hell, I tell ya.
Now, I ain’t been myself, mind you, my old bones ain’t up for all that stompin’ and hollerin’, but my niece, she went last year. She said it was somethin’ else. Said there was this fella, Luke Bryan, singin’ his heart out. And that little gal, Lainey Wilson, she’s gonna be there next year too, headlinin’ the whole shebang! Imagine that, a little slip of a thing like her, makin’ all that noise.
They call it the Barefoot Country Music Fest, somethin’ like that. I reckon they call it that ’cause folks be dancin’ in the sand with their shoes off. My niece said she lost her flip-flops in the crowd, had to walk back to the car barefoot. Said the sand was warm and kinda nice, though. Kids these days, always losin’ somethin’.
- They got big stars, you know, the ones you hear on the radio.
- And they got smaller bands too, playin’ all kinds of country music.
- My niece said they even had some fellas playin’ that bluegrass stuff, real fast and twangy.
This whole thing happens right there on the beach, between the Wildwoods Convention Center and Morey’s Adventure Pier. Sounds like a good spot, plenty of room to spread out and dance. And they say you can park right there on the beach, just a short walk from where all the music is. That’s handy, I guess, saves you from walkin’ too far. My old legs wouldn’t like that much, I tell ya.
Now, they had one this year too, in 2024. My niece said it was a real blast. She went with a whole bunch of her friends, and they stayed in one of them big hotels right there on the boardwalk. Said they could hear the music from their balcony. Imagine that, music right outside your window! I bet it was loud, but she didn’t seem to mind. Young folks, they like that loud music. Me, I prefer somethin’ a little quieter, maybe some good ol’ gospel.
They got food and drinks there too, you know. My niece said she ate a whole mess of fried dough. Said it was greasy and sugary, just the way she likes it. And they got beer, lots of beer. She said folks was havin’ a real good time, singin’ and dancin’ and carryin’ on. Sounds like a wild party, alright.
So, if you like country music and you like bein’ by the sea, this Wildwood Country Music Festival might be just the thing for you. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes, or maybe no shoes at all! And bring plenty of sunscreen, ’cause that sun can be mighty strong, especially in June. And don’t forget your hat, gotta keep that sun outta your eyes. And drink plenty of water, you don’t wanna get all dried up like an old prune.
They got a website and all, I heard. You can go there and buy tickets and see who’s gonna be singin’ and all that. My niece, she’s already got her tickets for next year. She’s countin’ down the days, I tell ya. Says she can’t wait to get back to that beach and dance her socks off. Well, I reckon good for her. Me, I’ll just stay here on the porch, sippin’ my sweet tea and listenin’ to the crickets. That’s enough excitement for an old woman like me.
But if you’re young and full of energy, go on and have yourself some fun. Life’s too short to be sittin’ around, y’know. Go out there and enjoy that music and that beach and all that good food. Just be careful and don’t get into too much trouble. And don’t forget to call your grandma once in a while, she worries about you.
Barefoot Country Music Fest 2025, that’s what they’re callin’ it. Sounds like a mouthful, but I guess it tells you what it’s all about. Country music, on the beach, barefoot if you want. Simple as that. So go on and have yourself a good time, y’hear? And tell ’em that old lady sent ya.
